Jasmine

I glanced out the small window next to me to see the night sky and the disappearing cities below us. In a couple of hours we would land in Dubai. In a couple of weeks, our plan to sabotage Chris and his relationship would ignite and burn everyone in its path. I guess you could say I was a little anxious about it; Kae was thrilled and wouldn’t shut up about it.

“You’re not having second thoughts are you?” she asked looking over at me suspiciously.

“Kae, how many damn times do I have to tell you? I’m good! I’m in this until the end,” I said reassuringly.

She looked me over one last time before turning her attention back to her magazine.

“You remember all the strategies? The game plans?”

“Yes…”I muttered annoyingly.

She snapped her head up at me and I raised my eyebrows in question.

“What?”

“Look, I’m just trying to prepare you for this shit now,” she said lowly. “When we get on the tour, we won’t have time to waste and bullshit around. We have to watch and pay attention to everything and then boom!” she clapped her hands loudly.

“We crash the party,” I finished for her.

“Right. You’re catching on now,” she patted my shoulder.  ”I just need to know if you’re down or not ahead of time so I know how much money I’m getting out of this.”

“I got you and I keep telling you I’m in this 100%. Believe me,” I said. “The only doubt in my mind is if it’ll actually work out. Like what if Chris catches on and then turns us in to the feds? Or what if someone else does?”

“With the way this plan is etched out, no one else should find out about this unless one of us spills the tea. If Chris tells anyone about this I’ll surely jack up his relationship and then his career.Chris knows not to play risky games with me.”

“But what about the girl, Rayne? You think she’ll give up so easily?” I asked.

She nodded thoughtfully. “Yea. She’s not a tough woman like you or me. She’s one of those soft, weak bitches who’ll break easily. Once both of our parts go through and she finds out about it, she’ll be so heartbroken that she’ll have no choice but to leave Chris. Then everything after that should run smoothly.”

“Ok. I just hope it will…”

“No hopes! It will happen. This I know for a fact.”

I sat back in my seat and just shook my head.

I trusted that this could work out for us…

But how could I be so sure?

This will work out perfectly! 

Jasmine was too naive and money hungry to see that I was basically using her for this little plan. Every lie I fed her, she swallowed with no questions asked. Little did she know that she would be the guinea pig for our little experiment and I would be the actual one to successfully make it through. And once I made it through, I would have everything and Jasmine would have…well she would have a lot of time on her hands.

I smiled evilly to myself just thinking about it. Jasmine gave me a questionable look but I simply brushed it off.

She had no idea what she was getting herself into.

No one did.

Everyone should know that in this world people work better alone and that’s exactly what I was doing.

Working alone and watching out for my damn self…
